Lauren Sims-Salata, though a self-declared North Carolinian for life, was born and raised in Springfield, IL. She received her BS in Psychology and her BA in music from Southeast Missouri State University, her MM in Vocal Performance from UNC-Greensboro, and has just recently completed her M.Div at Duke University. While at Duke Lauren served congregations in Bryson City and Hayesville, and she is overjoyed to return to her “mountain home” for her first ministerial appointment.
Lauren’s husband Rennie is also a UMC Pastor, and will be serving two parishes in Canton, NC. They enjoy cooking, making music, and playing with their black lab, Tob
