Follow Jesus. Make Disciples. Transform the World.

Karen Hayward's favorite Bible passage:

For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers, neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)

We Believe

Christians believe in the triune God:
        Creator Father
        Savior Son
        Sustainer Holy Spirit

This belief is perhaps best presented in the ancient creeds of the Christian church:

The most common is the Apostles' Creed.

Another, slightly longer, is the Nicene Creed.

The Athanasian Creed has a special emphasis on describing the trinity.

The United Methodist Church uses numerous additional statements of faith and affirmations; some are taken from the Bible, some are written in more modern language, and some have special focal points.

Perhaps the best resource on what Methodists believe is to consult the official church position! This site provides information on the mission, history, beliefs, policy statements, social creed, symbol, organization structure of the United Methodist Church.

Our beliefs can also be seen in our prayers. For our prayers to be meaningful we must have faith in that for which we pray. The best such example is the Lord's Prayer.
