Follow Jesus. Make Disciples. Transform the World.

Steve Arnaudin's favorite Bible passage:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NRSV)

Our Connections

The United Methodist Church is a connectional church.  That means that each congregation, while having a great deal of independent discretion and governance, is, nevertheless, and integral unit of the united body of Christ of the worldwide United Methodist Church.  We are all brothers and sisters in Christ and we work together to further His kingdom.

The Brevard First United Methodist Church is one of eighty-four churches in the Asheville District.  The District Superintendent of our district is the Rev. Ashley Crowder Stanley.  The office is located in Asheville, NC.

The Asheville District is one of fourteen districts (to be fifteen on July 1, 2008) in the Western North Carolina Conference.  The Bishop over our conference is J. Lawrence McCleskey.  The office is located in Charlotte, NC.

The Western North Carolina Conference is one of fifteen conferences in the Southeastern Jurisdiction.  The office is located at Lake Junaluska, NC.

The Southeastern Jurisdiction is one of five jurisdictions in the United States.  The main office of the United Methodist Church is located in Nashville, TN.
