As Operations Manager, Don’s primary responsibility is coordinating the maintenance and operation of our church.  In addition he is contact person for physical operation of the facility.  Don interfaces with the trustees on matters of everyday activities and makes recommendations to the trustees for maintenance and changes.

Don is a native of Gibson County in west Tennessee.  He earned a B. S. degree in mechanical engineering from The University of Tennessee.  For thirty-five years Don was employed as a project engineer at the Ecusta paper mill.  He has taught curriculum courses at Blue Ridge Community College and has served as member and chairman of the Transylvania County Planning Board.

Don has been a member at First United Methodist Church Brevard since 1967.  He has been chairman of Council on Ministries, Trustees, and Administrative Council.  In addition, Don has been a teacher in the youth and adult Sunday church school and presently teaches the Abiding Light adult class.

In 1974 Don married Sarah Lee Myracle.  They have three grown children: Eric, Eden, and Lauren.  Don’s hobbies include woodworking, photography, music, and tennis.
