As Senior Pastor, Mike has general pastoral oversight of our entire church program and ministry.  He is the primary Sunday morning preacher and works closely with such administrative committees as Staff/Parish Relations, Finance, and our Board of Trustees.  He also serves on the Boards of Trustees of Brevard College, Givens Estates and Camp Tekoa.

Following an eight-year tenure at Woodmont United Methodist Church in Reidsville, Rev. Mike Jordan renewed his acquaintance with the mountains of Western North Carolina, where earlier he served congregations in Highlands and West Jefferson in the late '70s and early '80s.  Other congregations where he ministered are North Wilkesboro, Gibsonville and Asheboro. 

Educated at Duke University, Pastor Mike received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Master of Divinity degree.  While there he also participated in wrestling, earning two Atlantic Coast Conference tournament awards and being employed as assistant wrestling coach in the 1970-72 seasons.  Also while at Duke, Jordan was Student Chaplain at the Murdock Center, a state institution for the mentally retarded.  His involvement with The Fellowship of Christian Athletes included a conference in Black Mountain which inspired him to renew his dedication and service as a Christian. 

Pastor Jordan's wife Margaret is a National Board Certified teacher of Language Arts and is employed at Bethel Middle School in Haywood County.  The Jordans have three grown daughters and one grandson.  Mike and Margaret share a great love for Brevard College, the mountains and the chance to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Transylvania County.
