Adults

Mission/Purpose:  To minister to shut-ins, the sick, those recovering from surgery, those experiencing the loss of loved one, the injured, depressed, lonely, etc., and warmly include them in the church family and all church services possible

Sponsored Activities:  Church parties at members' homes, trips to shows and lunches/dinners

Opportunities to Serve:

• Visitations at home, hospital, retirement homes, etc.

• Telephone calls for encouragement and to determine needs.

• Sympathy, Get Well, Thinking of You, Birthday cards to maintain loving contacts

• Trips to shows at the Porter Center, Peace Center, Barter Theater, Hart Theater, or Flat Rock Theater including lunch or dinner.

• Running errands with or without shut-ins.

• Dropping off dinners or treats such as strawberries, corn, peaches when we buy them for ourselves in season.

• Reporting church activities to them.

• Bringing them to services when possible.

• Helping shut-ins who need home repairs to find dependable workmen who are reasonable to do the work.

• Transportation to doctors and others.

• Praying with them and for them including the Church Prayer Group.

• Many other needs can be met since they need everything other people do.
