Missions/Outreach

Mission/Purpose:  To show God's love in gifts to selected charities and needy causes by administering a budget provided by the congregation and by encouraging personal gifts of time, talent and money by individuals in missionary ventures of all sorts.

Opportunities to Serve:  Individual gifts of time and talent in mission work may be made as blood drive workers, helping hands at the Nicaragua mission garage sale, construction helper on Conference sponsored and workgroup sponsored mission ventures, and by providing gifts of everyday personal items such as school supplies, clothing items and other designated gifts in announced appeals.

Overview of Responsibilities:  This group oversees distribution of the missions portion of the congregation's budget in three general categories. 

     > The Western North Carolina Conference sponsored missions

     > Selected local missions

     > International Outreach

Construction workers going to Chile, Mexico and Alaska will get direct supplemental support from this budget. 

Individual church member gifts of time and talent at such local charities as Sharing House, SAFE, Habitat for Humanity, Bread of Life, Family Partners for Independence, Kids in Camp, KOALA and the Weekday Children's Program are all backed by gifts from this budget.
