Opportunities to Serve

Fellowship Friend

• Purpose:  To welcome new members into the life and ministry of the church.

• Needed:  Friendly people who enjoy getting to know newcomers.

• Time:  Phone and personal contact during a new member’s first months.

Greeter

• Purpose:  To provide a warm greeting and sense of belonging to each one who enters the church for worship.

• Needed:  People with a warm smile, a firm handshake and a  love for people.

• Time:  Sunday mornings

Information Table

• Purpose:  To provide current information on the ministries and programs of the church to the congregation and visitors.

• Needed:  Helpful, friendly people.

• Time:  Sunday mornings

In Touch Ministry

• Purpose:  To assure folks that they are cared for and belong in our church family.

• Needed:  Friendly people to maintain telephone contact with church members.

• Time:  Monthly meeting and approximately 5 weekly phone calls.

Outdoor Welcome Team (OWT)

• Purpose:  To assist people as they arrive for worship.

• Needed:  Friendly people who like to be outdoors in all kinds of weather!

• Time:  Sunday mornings on a rotating basis

Pew Ministry

• Purpose:  To organize and refresh information in the pew racks.

• Needed:  Individuals who like things neat!

• Time:  Rotation schedule at individual’s convenience.

Welcome Team

• Purpose:  To provide information and assistance to first-time visitors.

• Needed:  Individuals or couples who like to visit.

• Time:  After church on Sundays

Men’s Bible Study

• Purpose:  To provide weekly Bible study and small group discussion for men.

• Needed:  Small group leaders and participants.

• Time:      Mondays 7:30 a.m. in Brevard College dining room.

Quilters

• Purpose:  To provide an opportunity for quilters to work together on a quilt project. 

• Proceeds are given to mission projects.

• Needed:  Quilters from the community.

• Time:  Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

United Methodist Women (UMW)

• Purpose:  To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

• Needed:  Women of all ages.

• Time:  Circles meet at various times once a month.

 Women’s Bible Study

• Purpose:  To  provide a time for sharing of concerns, prayer, and Bible study.

• Needed:  Newcomers always welcome.

• Time:  Mondays, 10:15 a.m., College Lounge
