The Prayer Ministry is at the heart of community, outreach and congregational care at FUMC.  A group of 12-16 (everyone is welcome) gather every Tuesday morning at 11:00 am in the Asbury room (second floor) to pray. The group has been meeting since 2002 and except for snow days, they are faithful ‘pray-ers.’

Brenda Whitcomb shares leadership with those who open the prayer time with a devotional. Support for each other, prayers for individuals and situations in both church and community are identified on a ‘prayer list’ to which new requests are added.

The prayer circle is broadened through e-mail communication throughout the week. If you would like to add a prayer request or become part of the praying circle, send a request to:

PrayerGrams are tangible reminders sent out to remind folks on the prayer list that they are being prayed for. The PrayerGrams are handwritten notes of encouragement, usually signed by everyone who attends the Tuesday prayer group or written and signed by members of our church family..

 The Prayer Shawl Ministry

Knit three, purl three – is the motif for this Monday morning group that meets twice a month to knit prayer shawls. When completed, the shawls are blessed and delivered to folks who may be going through a rough time and who need encouragement and the assurance that they are not alone.
