Sunday School meets from 9:45—10:45am each Sunday, (Elective Class begins at 9:30)
Classes for children and youth also meet during this time.
Children’s Sunday School
Our children from age 3 (by August 31) – 5th grade are offered classes within their age ranges
Preschool age 3-5, K -2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade to learn Bible stories, sing in music, and visit our church library.
The classrooms are taught by a rotation of four regular teachers who volunteer. This allows the students to have a few consistent adults who love being with kids and teaching them.
Adult Sunday School Classes at FUMC
Each of our classes provides a unique community that is seeking to know God and grow in faith together.
We hope you will explore these classes or speak to one of our ministry staff about beginning something new!
The Abiding Light Class is a Bible study class that uses the Bible and International Lesson Series as their primary sources. It is taught by long-time Sunday School teacher, Don Myracle, email@example.com with opportunity for sharing thoughts and discussion.
The Agape Class is a prayer and study group that focuses on a variety of spiritual life topics. They use both books and DVD series featuring renowned leaders to guide their discussion. Their class leader and lesson coordinator is Mike Harle, firstname.lastname@example.org with a rotation of facilitators.
The Asbury Class meets in the Asbury Room (upstairs in the Education Wing). This is a Bible Study class taught by Morris Davis, email@example.com a retired Wesleyan minister. They begin each lesson with singing from the Cokesbury hymnal and support one another with prayer and encouragement.
The Elective Class meets in the Chapel. This is a large, dynamic class with excellent leadership that invites a wide variety of guest speakers, ministers, teachers, and leaders from our community, the college, and around the world for lecture style learning, experience, and growth. Sisters is a class for women who seek to explore their spiritual journey together. The class leader is Anna Galloway, firstname.lastname@example.org a certified lay speaker and a counselor in the county schools. They involve themselves in study, support of one another, and outreach in the community.
2030+something is a class of younger adults, many of whom are parents of young children, that focuses on study, discussion and fellowship. They share leadership which is coordinated by class leaders, Mary and Steve Arnaudin email@example.com
Special Friends is a loving, spirited class for mentally challenged adults led by Dick and Judy Hargett. firstname.lastname@example.org They love to sing, share Bible stories, fellowship, and worship together.
